About

Born outside Philadelphia and raised in Vermont, Elliot Cockayne was driven by his passion for film and television to pursue a career in visual storytelling. Despite an early interest in animation, Cockayne studied English at Emerson College and The University of Leeds before earning his Creative Writing degree from the University of Vermont in 2021 and a minor in Film & TV Studies.
Towards the end of his tenure at UVM, he established Winter Sun Films, an independent creative platform focused on short-form narrative content. Since the brand’s conception, Cockayne has produced, written, directed, scored, edited, and acted in eight comedic short films. Additionally, he’s penned over twenty narrative screenplays ranging from short to feature-length narratives alongside nearly fifty creative essays.
Residing in Los Angeles, Cockayne has freelanced as a production assistant and background actor on numerous commercial sets featuring notable clients such as Avril Lavigne, Simple Plan, Chipotle, Chevy, HGTV, Lifetime, etc.. He’s currently in post-production on two upcoming short films, COVID Cop and Introverted School Reunion, expected in 2025, while revising the latest draft of his psychological thriller debut feature script, Psychosomatic.
